A Return For Super Sepp?

Tim "Seppo" Macy could be persuaded to return to the grass roots football of BUAFL for the 2011/12 season.


Speaking today on Twitter the Tarannau Aberystwyth Defensive Coordinator hinted that a return to the league was a possibility in the future thanks to the ease in which he would be able to do so.


After current Tarannau star Daniel Ray Lewis asked his football sensei,

"if ya cant coach... play? we do need a mikebacker and an o line."


Macy responded to his outside linebacker's call out with 


"Hmmm. .. I CAN do any degree for free...."


Macy still currently plays in the Britain's Senior American Football League for the South Wales Warriors with current Aber Wide Receiver James Bastille who may also be trying to tempt his old coach back to the cold winter months of BUAFL football while they train together this summer.


Should Macy pull on the 2011/12 jersey of Tarannau it would complete full circle return to the Blaendolau that he called home throughout his time as a student. After his playing time in Aberystwyth was over Macy eventually ended playing for his former sides bitter rivals the Cardiff Cobras before taking the role as their Head Coach.

But Aberystwyth continued to call his name and in 2008 Macy returned to West Wales to take a job at Aber University, vowing that he would not take any sort of role at Tarannau until he and his family were settled.  


2009 saw Tim return to the Tarannau brethren as Defensive Coordinator under the head coach Phil Dayus, but now maybe the lure of the game is becoming all too much for the old timer.


Should he decide to put his BUAFL pads back on Macy will become the first coach to step down from such a role since Michael Paling stepped down as head coach after a poor start to the 2006/7 season.


Macy continued to tweet on the subject of his return later in the day telling both Lewis and free safety Sam Taylor that family and an ageing body could prove to be problems facing a return to the field saying  "[I] value my marriage and my testicles too much" to play next season.


 Macy however has shown us before that family and football are two things that he can juggle successfully in Aberystwyth and it wont surprise many of us if we see Seppo back on a BUAFL field in the next 18 months.
